Government, by fever al A els herein mentioned, to regifter their Names and Real Ejlates, It is (amongft other Things) enacted, That all and every Perfon and Perfons whatfoever inhabiting in that Part of Great Britain called England, Wales, or Town of Berivick upon Tweed, who fhould be at the Age of eighteen Years or upwards, not having, before the making of the faid Act, taken the Oaths appointed to be taken in anihy an Ad made in the firft Year of his Majefty's Reign, intituled^ An Ail for the further Security of his Majefty's Perfon and Government, and the Succejfion of the Crown in the Heirs of the late Prin- cefs Sophia, being Proteftants, and for extinguijhing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales, and his open andfecret Abettors, and who fhould neglect or refufe to take the faid Oaths on orbefore the twenty- fifth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-three, in any of his Majefty's Courts of Record at Wejhninfler, or at the General or Quarter-Seffions for the County, City, Town, Liberty or Divifion where fuch Perfon or Perfons fhould live or inhabit, fhould, on or before the twenty-fifth Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-four, regifter or caufe to be regiftred, their re- fpective Names and Real Eftates, in fuch and the fame Manner and Form as Papifts were obliged and directed to regifter their Names and Real Eftates, in and by an Act pafted in the firft Year of his Ma- jefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail to oblige Papifts to regifter their Names and Real Ejlates, and alfo by an- other Act made and pafted in the the third Year of his faid Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail for ex- plaining an Ail paffed in the lafl Seffton of Parliament, intituled, An A (St to oblige Papifts to regifter their Names and Real Eftates ; and for enlarging the Time for fuch regiftring, and for fecuring Purchafes made to the Proteftants, and the faid refpective Officers appointed by the faid laft mentioned Acts, pafted in the firft and third Years of his Majefty's Reign, appointed and directed to take and receive the Regifters of the Names and Real Eftates of fuch Papifts, were by the faid Act of the laft Seffion of Parliament au- thorized and required to take and receive the Regifter of the Names and Real Eftates, which were by Virtue of the faid laft mentioned Acts appointed to be regiftred, in fuch and the fame Manner and Form, as by the faid other Acts were prefcribed in Relation to Papifts, and fhould fign and return true Copies of the fame into his Majefty's Court of Exchequer at Weflminfter, on or before the twenty-ninth Day of September one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-four; and it is by the faid Act further enaiSted, That all and every Papift, or reputed Papift, or other Perfon or Perfons profeffing the Popifh Religion, and all and every other Perfon or Perfons whatfoever, inhabiting in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, who fhould be at the Age of eighteen Years or upwards, not having, before the making of the faid Act, taken and fubferibed the Oath of Allegiance, fubferibed the Affurance, and taken and figned the Oath of Abjuration, as directed to be taken and fubferibed by fuch Perfons, who bare any Office under his Majefty by the aforefaid Act made in the firft Year of his Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Aft for the further Security of his Majefty's Perfon and Government, and the Succeffion of the Crown in the Heirs of the late Princefs Sophia, being Proteftants, and for extinguijhing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales, and his open and fecret Abettors, and who fhould neglect or refufe to take and fubferibe the faid Oaths, and fubferibe the faid Affurance, on or before the twenty-fifth Day of March one thoufand feven hundred and twenty- four, before and in the Court of the Lords of Seffion, or the Court of Jufti- ciary, or the Court of Exchequer in Scotland, or before the Juftices of the Peace at their Quarter- Seffions, held for the County, Shire, Stewartry, City, Burgh, Town or Liberty where fuch Perfon or Perfons fhould live or inhabit; or before Sheriffs or Stewarts, or their Deputies, in open Court, held for fuch Shire, Stewartry, City or Borough refpectively, where fuch Perfon or Perfons fhould live or inhabit as aforefaid ; every fuch Papift, reputed Papift, or Perfon profeffing the Popiih Religion, and all and every fuch other Perfon or Perfons who fhould neglect or refufe to take and fubferibe the faid Oaths, and fubferibe the faid Affurance by the Time aforefaid, fhould on or before the twenty-fourth Day of June one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-four, regifter or caufe to be regiftred their refpec- tive Names and Real Eftates in the Sheriff 's Court of fuch Shire or County wherein their Eftates did refpectively lie, in the fame Manner and Form as Papifts, in that Part of Great Britain called England, were obliged and directed to regifter their Names and Real Eftates in and by an Act paffed in the firft Year of his Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail to oblige Papifts to regifter their Names and Real Eftates, and alfo by another Act, made and paffed in the third Year of his Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail for explaining an Ail paffed in the lajl Seffion of Parliament, intituled, An Act to oblige Papifts to regifter their Names and Real Eftates ; and for enlarging the Time for fuch regiftring; and for fecuring Purchafes made by Proteftants, and the faid refpective Sheriffs, or Sheriffs Deputies, were, by the faid Act of the laft Seffion. of Parliament, directed and required to take and receive fuch Regiftrations as were thereby required to be made, and keep fuch Books, and make fuch Entries, as the Clerks of the"Peace of the feveral Counties, within that Part of Great Britain called England, were, by Virtue of the aforefaid Act of the firft Year of his Majefty's Reign, intituled, An Ail to oblige Papifts to regifter their Names and Real Ejlates, directed and required to keep and make, and fhould fign and return true Copies of fuch Regiftrations into his Majefty's Court of Exchequer in Scotland, on or before the twenty-fourth Day of December one thoufand feven hundred and twenty-four; and it is by the faid Act further enacted, That in cafe any Perfon or Perfons, who was or were thereby directed and required to take and fub- feribe the Oaths and Affurance refpectively as aforefaid; or for want thereof, to regifter his, her- or their Names, and Real Eftates, fhould not take and fubferibe fuch Oaths and Affurances refptctively, or regifter or caufe to be regiftred their Names and Real Eftates, in fuch Manner as in the faid Act be- fore is -directed, within the refpective Times therein limited and appointed for the doing thereof; then, and in every fuch Cafe, the Perfon or Perfons neglecting or refufing to take and fubferibe fuch Oaths and Affurance refpectively, or for want thereof to make fuch Regiftry as aforefaid, fhould forfeit the Fee-funple and Inheritance of, or fuch Eftate and Intereft in all fuch Lands, Tenements and Heredi- ' taments
