A. D. 1724." Anno undecimo Georgii Regis. C. 12. 525 Treafurer of the faid intended Corporation, or one of them, he hath declared his Will and Dcfirc to be, That his faid Executors and Truftees, by fuch Letters Patent or Act of Parliament as aforefaid, endeavour to have granted and appointed fuch rowers as may enable them in the moft effectual Manner to manage, fettle, and apply the faid refiduary Part of his Eftate, and tht- Rents, Interests, Dividend-,, or other Profits or Produce thereof, to fuch Ufes as by his faid Laft Will are directed and appointed; and that by fuch Letters Patent or Aft of Parliament it might be provided, that feven of the laid Com- mittee of one and twenty, or one third Part thereof at the lealt, may yearly and every Year go out of and be excluded their refpeftive Places, as Members of the faid Committee, by the Appointment of a General Court or Affembly of the Members of the faid intended Corporation, to be afkmbled and con- vened by the Prefident or Treafurer of fuch intended Corporation, yearly and every Year, at a Time or Times in fuch Letters Patent or Aft of Parliament to be appointed ; and that for that Purpofe at fuch General Court or Affembly as aforefaid, fourteen of the Members of the faid Committee, for the Year next preceding fuch General Court or Affembly, be firft elected and chofen Members of the faid Committee for the Year then next enfuing, and feven other Perfons out of fourteen of the Members of the faid intended Corporation, who were not Members of the faid Committee for the Year then next preceding, to be firft nominated by the faid Committee for the Year next preceding, be by and at fuch General Court and Affembly as aforefaid, elefted and appointed Members of the faid Committee for the Year then next enfuing fuch Election; and that in and by fuch Letters Patent or Aft of Parliament it be further provided and appointed, that the Management and Accounts of the faid Committee of one and twenty, be from time to time fubjeft to the Approbation or Difallovvance of a General Court or Affembly of the Members or Governors of fuch intended Corporation, to be from time to time con- vened and fummoned by proper and convenient Notice, by the Prefident or Treafurer of fuch intended Corporation for the Time being ; and did further declare his Mind, Will and Defire to be, that his Executors, by like humble Application as aforefaid, fhould endeavour to procure and obtain, that by fuch Letters Patent or Aft of Parliament as aforefaid, the faid Sir Gregory Page, Baronet, be appointed the firft Prefident of the faid Intended Corporation, and the faid Charles Joye, tfquire, the firft Treafurer thereof, and the faid William Clayton, Efquire, Mr. Thomas HoUis, Senior, John Kenrick and 'John Lade, Efquires, Doftor Richard Mead, Mofes Raper, Efquire, and Mr. John Sprint, and the faid Mr. Benjamin Braine, Senior, Mr. Thomas Clark, William Cole, Efquire, Doftor Thomas Crozv, Doftor Francis Fauquier, Mr. JoJhuaGee, Mr. Matthew Howard, Doftor Edward Hulfe, Mr. Samuel LeJJingham, Mr. Henry L veil, Mr. Samuel Monk, Mr. Jofeph Paice, Mr. Daniel Poivle, and Mr. Thomas Styles, be appointed the firft Members of the faid therein before mentioned and intended Committee, for the more conftant and or- dinary Management of the faid refiduary Part of his Eftate, and Charity thereby intended ; or in cafe of the Death of any of the Gentlemen laft above named, or their Refufal to accept of the refpeftive Trufts thereby intended, as Prefident, Treafurer, or Members of the faid Committee, then fuch other fit and able Perfons to be named and appointed by his faid Executors, to be Prefident, Treafurer, and Members of the faid Committee, making up the faid Number of one and twenty ; and that by fuch Letters Patent or Aft of Parliament as aforefaid, it be provided and granted, that the future Eleftions of the Prefident 2nd Treafurer of the faid intended Corporation, and alfo the Eleftion of the Phyficians and Surgeons, and of the Regifter, or Clerk and Solicitor, and of the Chaplain to be employed in and about the Charity thereby intended, be referred to and referved for the Members and Governors of t.ie faid intended Corporation, or the major Part of them in general Court affembled as aforefaid, as alfo their Removal, Difplacing and Pilling up ; and that the Offices of the Apothecary, Steward, Matron, Cook, Sifters, and all other Officers to be employed in and about the faid intended Hofpital and Charity, be referred to the Eleftion of the faid intended Committee and their Succeffors, and by them, and at their Pleafure to he altered, and the refpeftive Officers to be removed, difpkiced, fupplied and filled up ; and he the faid Teftator hath hereby declared his Mind and Will further to be, that as fooi; as fuch intended Corporation can be obtained and take Effect, his faid Executors do forthwith pay, aflign, transfer and in due Form of Law, convey and make over all the faid refiduary Part of his Eftate therein before deviled to them, or fo much thereof as fhould not have been applied and expended in and about the Execution of his faid Will, to and for the Ufes thereby-direfted and appointed, fubjeft to the Pay- ment of the feveral Annuities therein before devifed, to the faid thereby intended Corporation and their Succeffors, upon the Trufts, and to be by them applied, from time to time, to and for fuch Ufes, Intents and Purpofes, as are in his faid Will for that Purpofe tlirefted and appointed ; and has declared his Will further to be, that the faid Prefident, Treafurer, Committee, and Governors intended to be incorporated as aforefaid, do as foon as the fame can be done conveniently, lay out of the Surplus of the faid refiduary Part of his Terfonal Eftate, or fo much thereof, as fhall not be expended in building., furnifhing, and fit- ting up the (aid two Squares of Building, or other the neceffary Charges and Difburfemenu for fuch Purpofes in the Purchafe of Meffuages, Lands, Ground-Rents, Fee-Farm Rents, or other Eftates of Inheritance, or the Reverfton thereof in Fee-fimp]e, to the Intent that the yearly and other Rents and Profits of fuch Purchafes, together with the Rents and Profits of the faid Refiduary Part of his P eal Eftate, be from time to time applied to, and become a perpetual Provifion for the Maintenance and Cure of fuch poor lick Perfons as are to be received into, and entertained in the faid intended Hofpital, and for defraying and anfwering all other the conftant neceffary Charges and Expences in and about the fame ; and that until the faid refiduary Part of his Perfonal Eftate mail belaid out in Purchafes as afore- faid, the Intcreft, Dividends, and other Income or Profits thereof, be from time to time, applied to fuch Purpofes as are before appointed for the Application of the Rents and Profits of fuch Purchafes - ;
