' ' Reign, and the Excefs or Surplus, which fhall from Time to Time arife by the faid other Moiety or half of the faid Subfidy of Tonnage and Poundage, which was granted for the Term of ninety-fix Years, from the laft Day of July one thoufand feven hundred and twelve, and charged with eighty thoufand Pounds per Annum, for Payment of Annuities, and all other Revenues, Remains and Arrears whatfoever, which by the faid Act of the twelfth Year of her faid late Majefty's Reign were appropriated for Payment of Intereft and Allowances relating to the Exchequer-Bills, or towards cancelling the fame, fubject to fuch Redemp- tion as was thereby prefcribed, fhall be, and fhall be deemed and taken, and are hereby enacted and de- clared to be Part of the general Fund, and Security by this Act eftablifhed and intended to be eftablifhed, for all the Ufes and Purpofes in this Act expreffed, and fhall be fubject to fuch Redemption as in this Act is prefcribed, and not otherwife ; the faid former Adts or any of them, or any Claufe, Matter or Thing in them, or any of them, contained to the contrary in any wife notwithftanding. And to the End there may be no Failure or Defect in the faid general Fund hereby intended to be 4 eftablifhed, his Majefty's faid dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Commons of Great Britain in Parliament Duties on ' afiembled, have given and granted, and by this Act do give and grant to his Majefty, his Heirs and Suc- Wines and Mer. e. ce fT ors f or ever, the feveral additional Revenues and Incomes herein after more particularly expreffed, and ' do moft humbly befeech his Majefty, that it may be enacted ;' And be it enacted by the Authority afore- faid, in Manner following, that is to fay, Whereas by an Act of Parliament of the fixth Year of her faid

and other Duties upon Wines, Goods, and Merchandizes imported, which were granted to the Crown in the twelfth Tear of the Reign of King Charles the Second, and for fettling a Fund thereby, and by other TVoys and Means, for Payment of Annuities, not exceeding eighty thoufand Pounds per Annum, to be fold for raying a further Supply to her Majefty, for the Service of the Tear one thoufand feven hundred and eight, and other Ufes therein id 3ven. -. itely enfuing, fhould be imported or brought into Great Britain, one Moiety or Half-Part of the Subfidies Duties, and Sums of Money therein mentioned, or thereby referred to ; (except as therein is excepted): Now it is hereby enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That there fhall be raifed, levied, collected, and paid, to his Majefty, his Heirs and Succefiors for ever, for and upon all Wines, Goods and Merchandizes which at any Time or I imes, from and after the Determination of the faid Term of ninety-fix Years lhall be imported or brought into Great Britain, the like Moiety or Half-Part of the like Subfidies, Duties and Sums of Money (except as in and by the faid Act of the fixth Year of her late Majefty's Reign, or any other Act or Acts of Parliament in relation to the faid Half-Subfidy, is excepted) and fhall be collected levied, and paid by fuch Ways and Means, and under fuch Penalties and Forfeitures, and fubject to fuch Drawbacks and Allowances, and in fuch Manner and Form, as by the faid Act of the fixth Year of her Majefty's Reign,' or any other Act relating thereunto, is prefcribed, for railing and levying the faid Half- Subfidy, during the Term aforefaid ; and that all the Monies which, after the Determination of the faid Term of ninety-fix Years, fhall arife, of or for the faid Moiety or Half-Part of the faid Subfidy and Duties hereby intended to be continued, and all the Arrears of the faid Half-Subfidy which fhall or may 3. arife
