An Aft for the more effectual preventing and further Punifliment of Forgery, Perjury and Subornation of Perjury ; and to make it Felony to ileal Bonds, Notes or other Securities for Payment of Money. And the more effectually to deter Perfons from committing wilful and corrupt Perjury, or Subornation of Perjury, be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid. That befides the Punifhment already to be in- Penalty for Per- fected by Law for fo great Crimes, it fhall and may be lawful for the Court or Judge, before whom any j"ry and Subor- Perfon fhall be convicted of wilful and corrupt Perjury, or Subornation of Perjury, according to the Laws nntion - now in Being, to order fuch Perfon to be fent to fome Houfe of Correction within the fame County, for a 5 El ' 9 * Time not exceeding feven Years, there to be kept to hard Labour during all the faid Time, or otherwife to be tranfported to fome of his Majefty's Plantations beyond the Seas, for a Term not exceeding feven Years, as the Court fhall think moft proper ; and thereupon Judgment fhall be given, that the Perfon convicted fhall be committed or tranfported accordingly, over and befide fuch Punifhment as fhall be adjudged to be in- flicted on fuch Perfon, agreeable to the Laws now in Being ; and if Tranfportation be directed, the fame Concenrir,* p ,- fhall be executed in fuch Manner as is or fhall be provided by Law for the Tranfportation of Felons ; and p,ry, r 'fiefa,ib& if any Perfon fo committed or tranfported (hall voluntarily efcape or break Prifon, or return from Tranf- 23 ff™. z. c.H. portation before the Expiration of the Time for which he fhall be ordered to be tranfported, as aforefaid, ™hicb dirias the fuch Perfon, being thereof lawfully convicted, ihall fuffer Death as a Felon, without Benefit of Clergy, Form c f p '"fi- and fhall be tried for fuch Felony in the County where he fo efcaped, or where he fhall be apprehended. c ""° n ' III. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons, after the faid To -leal Orders, twenty-ninth Day of June (hall fteal or take by Robbery any Exchequer Orders or Tallies, or other Orders, Tallies, &c, intitling any other Perfon or Perfons to any Annuity or Share in any parliamentary Fund, or any Exchequer Felony. Bills, Bank Notes, South-Sea Bonds, Eajl-India Bonds, Dividend Warrants of the Bank, South-Sea Company, Eajl-India Company or any other Company, Society or Corporation, Bills of Exchange, Navy Bills or Debentures, Goldfmiths Notes for Payment of Money, or other Bonds or Warrants, Bills or Pro- miffory Notes for the Payment of any Money, being the Property of any other Perfon or Perfons, or of any Corporation, notwithstanding any of the faid Particulars are termed in Law a Chofe in Action, it fiiall be deemed and conftrued to be Felony, of the fame Nature and in the fame Degree, and with or without the Benefit of Clergy, in the fame Manner as it would have been, if the Offender had ftolen or taken by Robbery, any other Goods of like Value with the Money due on fuch Orders, Tallies, Bills, Bonds, War- rants, Debentures or Notes, or fecured thereby, and remaining unfatisfied, and fuch Offender ihall fuffer 4 U 2 fuch
