And it is hereby further enacted and declared, That all Conveyances and A.Turances whatfoever^ of any Caftles, Honours, Manors, Lands, Tenements, Rents, Hereditaments or Real Etlate whatfoever, made at any Time after the twenty-fourth Day oVJime one thoufand feven hundred and forty -two, by any Perfon who has been fince attainted or {hall be attainted as aforefaid, unto or for his ov/n Ufe, or unio or for the Ufe of his Wife or any of his Children, or in Truft for himfelf, his Wife or any of his Children (other than fuch as were made bona fide before, and in Confideration of Marriage, or in Performance of fome Co- venant or Agreement made and reduced into Writing before and in Coniideration of Marriage) and alfo all Affurances and Conveyances whatfoever, made at any Time fince the twenty-fourth Day o': June one thou- fand feven hundred and forty-two, by any fuch Perfon, are hereby declared to be, and Iliall for ever here- after be deemed and taken to be fraudulent; and that no Claim fnall at any Time hereafter be allowed for the fame, excepting fuch Affurances and Conveyances as have been made fince the Time aforefaid, or fhall be made in Time coming, for juH and onerous Caufes, the faid onerous Caufes being always otherwife in- ftrufted than by the Writings themfelves. And whereas feveral Tenants of the faid attainted Perfons may have paid their refpeftive Rents ' due to them after the faid twenty-fourth Day oijune one thoufand feven hundred and forty-five, and be- ' fore the Times of their refpeftive Attainders, without Fraud orColiufion;' Be it therefore enadied. That fuch Tenants fhall be and are hereby difcharged therefrom, on due Proof of fuch actual Payments thereof refpecSively made, CAP. XLII, An A(El to enforce the Execution of an Aft of this SefTion of Parliament, for granting to hia Majefty feveral Kates and Duties upon Houfes, Windows or Lights. ' within the exafl: Time, and according to the precife Method thereby direfted, hath been, and may be, ' prevented, and the raifing the Rates and Duties granted thereby obftructed or delayed ;' Be it enacted by the King's moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Tem- poral, and Commons, in this prefent PiU'liament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame. That in all. Cafes where the faid Commiffioners have already omitted, or fhall at any Time or Times hereafter omit to meet or execute the faid Powers, or any of them, within or at the Time or Times, or according to the Manner direfted and prefcribed by the faid Aft, it fhall and may be lawful for the faid Commiffioners, or any two or more of them, to meet and execute the faid Powers at any other Time or Times, and from time to time as there Ihall be Occafioii ; and they are hereby authorized and required forthwith, or as foon after the Time or Times at which fuch Meeting3 fhould have been held, according to the faid Aft, as fhall be convenient, to meet and execute the fame, fo as that the faid Rates and Duties may be duly and effeftual- ]y charged, raifed, levied, collefted and paid to his Majefty, his Heirs and Succellors, for the Ufcs in the faid. Aft, notwithftanding any fuch Omiffiou or Defeft; and all Meetings and Afts of the faid Commiffio- ners, or any two or more of them, which have been already had or done purfuant [in all other Refpefts) to th^ Direftions of the faid Aft, fliall be deemed, and are hereby declared to be good and valid to all Intents and Purpofes, notwiihftanding fuch Omiffion or Defeft. II. And be it further enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That the faid Commiffi^oners, or any two or more of them, fhall have Power; and are hereby required to appoint fuch Affcffors, and for fuch Diftnfts or Divifions, v/ithin their refpeftive Limits, as they fb,all judge proper, out of the Perfons who (hall by their Precepts, as direfted by the faid Aft, be ordeied to appear before them for fuch Diftrifts or Divifions refpeftively ; and if any of the Perfons on whom fuch Precepts fliall be ferved fl'.all negleft to appear, or they or any of the Colleftors or Officers appointed or to be appointed under the faid Aft, fliall wilfully ne- gleft or refufe to take the Oaths appointed by the faid Aft to be taken by them refpeftively, or to take upon them their refpeftive Offices, the faid Commiffioners, or any two or more of them, are hereby authorized and required to impofe on every fuch Perfon fo neglefting or refufing, any Fine not exceedijig the Sum of five Pounds for any one Oftence ; the fame to be levied, certified and paid, as other Fines by the faid Aft are direfted to be levied, certified and paid. III. And it is hereby further declared and enafted by the Authority aforefaid. That in all Cafes where the Kingdom of England, or that Part of Great Britain called England, hath been or fliall be mentioned in any Aft of Parliament, the fame has been and fhall from henceforth be deemed and taken to comprehend and include the Dominion of IVales and Town oi Benviek upon Tweed. ' IV. And whereas certain Perfons, Diffenters from the Church of England, commonly called fakers, ' do fcruple the taking of any Oaths, and it may hap]-)en that feveral of the faid Perfons may be appointed ' Affeflbrs for raifing the faid Rates an.-l Dtities upon Houfes, Windows and Lights ;' Be it further en- afted by the Authority aforefaid, lliat in every fuch Cafe it fli ill be fufficient for fuch Perfons appointed or to be appointed Afiellbrs for the Purpof >S' aforefaid, inftead of the Oaths appointed by the faid Aft to be taken by the faid Affeflors, to make and fubfcribe the Declaration of Fidelity prefcribed by an Aft made in the firft Year of the Reign of King Wii.i,i..m and Qiiecn Mary (intituled.
