And for the morc eafy and fure Payment of the faid Annuities to be purchafed as aforefaid, according a Chief Caftiier ^q j-y^g tf^g Meaning of this prefeiit Aft ; it is hereby enacted by the Au'.hority aforefaid. That the faid Go- and Accomptant ^,£-^,^5^ and Company of the Banlc of England^ and their Succeiibrs, fhall, from time to time, until the faid Pav"erto7thc Annuities fhall be redeemed by Parliament according to this A(ft, appoint and employ one fufricient Perfon Ajimriiic!; • within their Office in the City of London, to be their Chief or Firft Cafhier or Cafliiers, and one other fuf- ficient Perfon within the fame Office, to be their Accomptant General ; and that fo much of the Monies of the faid SurplufTes, Exceffes or Overplus Monies of the Fund, commonly called the Sinking Fund, which fhall or ought to be, from time to time, feparated and fet apart in the faid Receipt of Exchequer, for an- fwering the faid Annuities to be purchafed upon this A£l, after the faid Rate of three Pounds per Centum per Annum, fhall by Order of the Commiffioners of his Majefty's Treafury, or any three or more of them now being, or of the High Treafurer, or Commiffioners of the Treafury of his Majefty, his Heirs and Succef- Ibrs for the time being, without any further or other Warrant to be fued for, had or obtained in that Be- and the Monies half, be, from time to time, Half-yearly as aforeiaid, iflued and paid at the faid Receipt of Exchequer, to to be paid to the faid Firft or Chief Cafhier or Cafliiers of the faid Governor and Company of the Banlc of England, and themHalf-yearly gf their SuccefTors for the time being, by way of Imprell:, and upon Account of the Payment of the faid at the Exchequer, y^p,nuities fo purchafed upon this Act, at fuch Times, and in fuch Manner and Form, as are by this Act reft^ &c '"' prefcribed in that Behalf; and that all and every Cafhier and Cafliiers, to whom the faid Monies fhall, from ^ ' ' time to time be ifTiied, fliall from time to time, without Delay, apply and pay the fame accordingly, and lender his Accounts thereof, according to the due Courfe of the Exchequer ; any thing herein contained to the contrary notwithftanding. The Monies VIII. And be it further ena£ted by the Authority aforefaid. That all the Monies to be advanced or con- contributed to tributed upon this Aft, for or towards the faid Sum not exceeding one million, fhall be deemed, reputed, he deemed a ^^^^ taken to be one Capital or Joint Stock, on which the faid Annuities, after the Rate of three Pounds Joint tui. , ^^^. Q^fifi^jj^ pgy Jnnum, fhall be attending ; and that all and every Perfon and Perfons, and Corporations ■whatfoever, in Proportion to the Money, which he, fhe or they fhall be intitled to, as aforefaid, fhall have, and be deemed to have a proportional Intercitand Share in the faid Stock, and in the Annuity attending which may be the fame, at the Rate aforefaid ; and that the faid whole Capital or Joint Stock, or any Share or Intereff transferred, therein, and the proportional Annuity attending the fame, fhall be affignable and transferrable as this Aft di- refts, and not otherwife ; and that there fhall conftantly be kept at all feafonable Times in the Office of the faid Accomptant General for the time being, within the City of London, a Book or Books wherein all Af- fignments or Transfers of the faid whole Capital or Joint Stock, or any Part thereof, and the proportional IWethod of tranf- Annuity attending the fame, at the Rate aforefaid, fhall be entered and regiftered ; which Entries fhall be lunng, conceived in proper Words for that Purpofe, and fhall be figned by the Parties making fuch Affignments or Transfers, or if iuch Party be abfent, by his, her or their Attorney or Attornies, thereunto lawfullv autho- rized by Writing under his, her or their Hands and Seals, to be attefled by two or more credible 'WitnefTes ; and that thePerlon or Perfons to whom fuch Transfer fhall be made, do underwrite his, her or their Accep- tance thereof; and that no other Method of affigning or transferring the faid Stock, and the Annuities at- .- tending the fame, or any Part thereof, or any Interelt therein, fliall be good and available in Law; and that wiiK-out Stamps, no Stamp Duties whatfoever fhall be charged on the faid Transfers, or any of them ; any other Law or Sta- tute to the contrary notwithftanding.
