HE R E A S the Duties now payable upon the Importation of Bever Skins, and the Draw> V V back allowed upon the Exportation of fuch Skins, are great Difcouragements to the Manu- facture of Hats in this Kingdom; Therefore We, your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Commons of Great Britain, being defirous to promote and encourage the Manufactures of this Kingdom, do moft humbly befeech your Majefty, that it may be enacted ;' and Be it enacted by the King's moft -Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and After 7 April 1764, the Terrrpor j], and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That ' from and after the leventh Day of April, which fhall be in the Year of our Lord one thoufand'feven hundred and fixty-four, the feveral Rates, Duties, Subfidies and Impofitions payable upon the Im- portation of Bever Skins, imported into Great Britain from any of his Majefty's Dominions in Ame- rica, fhall ceafe, determine, and be no longer paid. II. And be it further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That from and after the faid feventh Day of April, the following Duties fhall be paid to his Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors ; that is to lay, For every Bever Skin imported into Great Britain from any of his Majefty's Dominions in America, the Sum of one Penny; and ■For every Bever Skin, or Piece of Bever Skin, exported from Great Britain, the Sum of feven Pence; and For every Pound Weight Averdupoife of Bever Wool or Wombs exported from Great Britain, the Sum of one Shilling and fix Pence.
