Note. Evidence that Shakespeare probably returned to Stratford for this funeral has been found in the fact that he was godfather to William Walker, who was baptized in the Stratford Church shortly afterwards (Oct. 19). See allusion to ‘my godson, William Walker,’ in the poet’s will (p. 84). But the argument is not strong.
