SONGS OF THE SOUL

FLOWER OFFERING

A goblet of my folly-blood
Is humbly set beneath Thy Petal Feet,—
   O, Lotus Sweet!
I’ve stood with tears seeking Thine angry thirst to quench,—
With sandal sweet, with motely costumed flowers,
With devotion’s perfume from my heart of heart,
With myrrh of constancy my soul imparts—
To worship Thee. Unheard is my lay,—
   And for naught I pray,—
   But with sleepless care
   I’ll lay my flower there.
