But she said "No, I shall not trust my child out of my sight; please to lift her down." The man persisted in it that she would be safe enough, but her mother was not to be persuaded, she said "No, if you have not room for us both in your coach, we will wait for the next one." The man very sullenly lifted Susan down, and drove on.
