TUMERIC TINCTURE.

Take of
Turmeric, bruised 1 ounce
Rectified Spirit 6 fluid ounces

Macerate for seven days in a closed vessel, and filter.


II.
TEST SOLUTIONS.
SOLUTION OF ACETATE OF COPPER.

Take of

Subacetate of Copper of commerce, in fine powder ½ ounce
Acetic Acid 1 fluid ounce
Distilled Water a sufficiency

Dilute the acid with half a fluid ounce of the water; digest the subacetate of copper in the mixture at a temperature not exceeding 212° F. (100° C.) with repeated stirring, and continue the heat until a dry residue is obtained. Digest this in four ounces of boiling distilled water, and by the addition of more of the water make up the solution to five fluid ounces. Filter it.

SOLUTION OF ACETATE OF POTASSIUM.

Take of

Acetate of Potassium 1 ounce
Distilled Water 6 fluid ounces

Dissolve and filter.

SOLUTION OF ACETATE OF SODIUM.

Take of

Acetate of Sodium 1 ounce
Distilled Water 5 fluid ounces

Dissolve and filter.
