Handsworth is a parish in the south division of the hundred of Offlow, county of Stafford, 2 miles from Birmingham, and pleasantly situated on the banks of the river Tame. Pop., with Soho, 4,944; An. As. Val. £16,874. The principal trade of the parish is in Birmingham wares, steam engines, and other iron-work. Here is the extensive manufactory of the late Messrs.
