Faridoonji.

Faridoonji Jamshedji, (Nawab Faraidoon Jang Bahadur), C.I.E., (1903), Political Secretary, Hyderabad (D); e.s. of the late Dr. Jamsheciji; b. 1849; gained the esteem of the late Sir Salar Jang by the energy and ability with which he conducted the Bombay System of Survey in the State of Hyderabad; appointed First Talukdar of Aurangabad, 1883; Survey Settlement Commissioner, 1884; was Private Secretary to the late Sir Salar Jang, and his succesors; was one of the two that represented the State of Hyderabad at the Parliamentary enquiry in connection with the Deccan Mining Scandal; appointed Political Secretary to the Government of Hyderabad. Recreations: riding, and shooting. Address: Saifabad, Hyderabad (D), India.

Fateh Ali Khan, Hon’ble Hajee Nawab Kizilbash, C.I.E. (1903); head of the clan of Kizilbash Muhammadans; b, 1862; succeeded to headship of the clan, 1896. During the time of the Chitral Expedition, he placed himself and his clan at the disposal of the Govt. of India and succeeded in inducing a large number of border tribes to be friendly to the British Government. For this service he was granted 2000 acres of land in the Chenab Canal Colony for settlement of his followers; was a Member of the Legislative Council, Punjab; reperesented Punjab in the famine Conference, 1897; Life-President, Anjuman-i-Islamia , Lahore, and Imamia Association of the Punjab; Counsellor, Aitchison Chief’s College, Lahore; Fellow of the University of Punjab; Trustee, M.A.O., College, Aligarh; proceeded to England for the Coronation of late Emperor Edward VII. Fateh Lal, Mehta, Udaipur; b, 1868; educ; at the Ajmere College; joined service in Udaipur State; officiated as Revenue Officer, etc,; was instrumental in establishing a Memorial School to the Poet Babu Harish Chandra of Benares; has written a book known as ‘Guide to Udaipur’ a copy of which was presented to King-Emperor while visiting Udaipur as Prince of Wales; is Secretary of the Udaipur Sarvatara Dharma Sabha; Life-Member, Nagari Prachami Sabha of Benares.
