College, 1871-74; obtained 1st class honours in Mathematics; joined service as Assistant Engineer, Public Works Dept., India, 1874; Executive Engineer, 1881; Superintending Engineer, 1897; Chief Engineer and Secretary, 1901; Member, Legislative Council, U.P., 1903-5; Secretary to Government (Irrigation Branch); thanked by the Government of U.P., and the Government of India for his work in connection with the development of Irrigation in the Ganges and Jumna Systems; re-employed by Government of India as Consulting Engineer for Irrigation in Central India.
