Cicero, after vainly seeking help from
Pompey and Cæsar, goes into voluntary
exile (May) and in consequence is forbidden
"fire and water" within 400
miles of Rome. He stays at Thessalonica
till about November 27th, and then
returns to Dyrrachium.
