子謂韶、盡美矣、
又盡善也、謂武、
盡美矣、未盡善

子曰、居上不寬、
為禮 不敬、臨喪
不哀、吾何以觀
之哉。

CHAPTER XXV.

The Master spoke of the Shao as perfectly beautiful in its form and perfectly good in its influence. He spoke of the Wu as perfectly beautiful in its form but not perfectly good in its influence.

CHAPTER XXVI.

The Master said: "High station filled without magnanimity, religious observances performed without reverence, and mourning conducted without grief,--from what standpoint shall I view such ways!"
