THE DISPOSAL OF THE PARCEL.
In that little word "Ah!" were expressed
hope, relief, eagerness, and gratitude. The
name was that of a well-known financier; one
who had the power of dispensing good or ill to
hundreds of other men. It could not forebode
ill to the master of this insignificant home,
since he was no debtor to it; therefore it
must denote some blessing. A situation, the
chance to earn a living for these precious ones
whom his failure and his honesty had impoverished.
For the first time, at the relief of this
fancy, tears leaped to the bright, clear eyes of
