insist upon requirements, that ought, as we imagine, to limit the Divine wisdom in embodying the Divine will in a written Revelation. Instead of insisting upon any such conditions, ought we not rather, in all humility, to acknowledge that, in the Divine methods of proceeding toward mankind—natural, providential, and supernatural—we have everything to learn, and nothing to premise?
