EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Lieutenant Commander Roger L. BUSCHMANN was born in Springfield, Missouri in October 1948. He was graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 1972 and received his commission through Office Candidate School, Newport, Rhode Island. He then reported to the USS LITTLE ROCK (CLG 4) where he served as Assistant CIC Officer and OI Division Officer. In August, 1974 he was ordered to USS ENGLAND (CO 22) were he served as CIC and Operation Officer. During the period June 1976 to December 1977 Lieutenant Commander Buschmann served in the Fleet Training Group Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as Navigation/Ship Control Instructor and Training Liaison Officer. In 1978 he attended the Department Head School at Newport, Rhode Island. Upon graduation he was assigned to USS NICHOLSON (DD 982) as Operations Officer where he served until assuming duties as Prospective Executive Officer, TAURUS (PHM 3). Lieutenant Commander Buschmann's awards include the Navy Commander Medal and various other service medals and unit awards. Lieutenant Commander Buschmann is married to the former Deirdre K. Zwanck of Yuba City, California. They reside with their son Jeffrey in Key West. Florida.
