Public Law 100-400 100th Congress Joint Resolution Aug. 17, 1988 [H.J. Res. 138]

To authorize and request the President to issue a proclamation designating the third Sunday of August 1988 as "National Senior Citizens Day".

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the President is authorized and requested to issue a proclamation designating the third Sunday of August 1988 as "National Senior Citizens Day", and calling upon the people of the United States to observe such day with appropriate ceremonies and activities in honor of the contributions to the United States of individuals more than 55 years of age. Approved August 17, 1988.
