Public Law 100-460 100th Congress An Act Making appropriations for Rural Development, Agriculture, and Related Agencies programs for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1989, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for Rural Development, Agriculture, and Related Agencies programs for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1989, and for other purposes; namely: TITLE I—AGRICULTURAL PROGRAMS PRODUCTION, PROCESSING AND MARKETING OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY

For necessary expenses of the Office of the Secretary of Agriculture, including the direct supervision of the Soil Conservation Service and the Forest Service, and not to exceed $50,000 for employment under 5 U.S.C. 3109, $1,762,000: Provided, That not to exceed $8,000 of this amount shall be available for official reception and representation expenses, not otherwise provided for, as determined by the Secretary. OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY SECRETARY

For necessary expenses of the Office of the Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, including not to exceed $25,000 for employment under 5 U.S.C. 3109, $363,000: Provided, That not to exceed $3,000 of this amount shall be available for official reception and representation expenses, not otherwise provided for, as determined by the Deputy Secretary. OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT TO THE SECRETARY FOR SPECIAL SERVICES

For necessary salaries and expenses to continue the Office of the Assistant to the Secretary for purposes of providing special services to the Department, $150,000: Provided, TTiat none of these funds shall be available for the supervision or management of Natural Resources and Environmental activities, the Soil Conservation Service, or the Forest Service, or any other activities or functions £ussociated therewith. OFFICE OF THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR ADMINISTRATION

For necessary expenses of the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration to carry out the programs funded in this Act, $467,000.
