107 STAT. 158 PUBLIC LAW 103-43—JUNE 10, 1993 "(2) APPLICABLE PERCENTAGE.— The percentage referred to in paragraph (1) is— "(A) 7 percent, in the case of fiscal year 1994; "(B) 9 percent, in the case of fiscal year 1995; and "(C) 10 percent, in the case of fiscal year 1996 and each subsequent fiscal year.", (b) CONFORMING AMENDMENTS. — (1) IN GENERAL. —Section 408 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 284c) is amended— (A) by striking subsection (a); (B) by redesignating subsection (b) as subsection (a); (C) by redesignating paragraph (5) of subsection (a) (as so redesignated) as subsection (b); and (D) by amending the heading for the section to read as follows: "CERTAIN USES OF FUNDS". (2) CROSS-REFERENCE.—Section 464F of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 285m-6) is amended by striking "section 408(b)(1)" and inserting "section 408(a)(1)". TITLE V—NATIONAL HEART, LUNG, AND BLOOD INSTITUTE SEC. 501. EDUCATION AND TRAINING. Section 421(b) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 285b-3(b)) is amended— (1) in paragraph (3), by striking "and" after the semicolon at the end; (2) in paragraph (4), by striking the period at the end and inserting "; and"; and (3) by inserting after paragraph (4) the following paragraph: "(5) shall, in consultation with the advisory council for the Institute, conduct appropriate intramural training and education programs, including continuing education and laboratory and clinical research training programs.". SEC. 502. CENTERS FOR THE STUDY OF PEDIATRIC CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASES. Section 422(a)(1) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 285b-4(a)(l)) is amended— (1) in subparagraph (B), by striking "and" at the end; (2) in subparagraph (C), by striking the period and inserting "; and"; and (3) by adding at the end the following subpsiragraph: "(D) three centers for basic and clinical research into, training in, and demonstration of, advanced diagnostic, prevention, and treatment (including genetic studies, intrauterine environment studies, postnatal studies, heart arrhythmias, and acquired heart disease and preventive cardiology) for cardiovascular diseases in children.".
