112 STAT. 2681-237 PUBLIC LAW 105-277—OCT. 21, 1998 LAND ACQUISITION For expenses necessary to carry out the Land and Water Conservation Fund Act of 1965, as amended (16 U.S.C. 4601-4 through 11), including administrative expenses, and for acquisition of land or waters, or interest therein, in accordance with statutory authority applicable to the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, $48,024,000, to be derived from the Lsind and Water Conservation Fund and to remain available until expended, of which $1,000,000, together with such other sums as may become available, is for a grant to the State of Ohio for acquisition of the Howard Farm near Metzger Marsh in the State of Ohio. COOPERATIVE ENDANGERED SPECIES CONSERVATION FUND For expenses necessary to carry out the provisions of the Endanfered Species Act of 1973 (16 U.S.C. 1531-1543), as amended, 14,000,000, to be derived from the Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation Fund, and to remain available until expended. NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE FUND For expenses necessary to implement the Act of October 17, 1978 (16 U.S.C. 715s), $10,779,000. NORTH AMERICAN WETLANDS CONSERVATION FUND For expenses necesseiry to carry out the provisions of the North American Wetlands Conservation Act, Public Law 101-233, as amended, $15,000,000, to remain available until expended. WILDLIFE CONSERVATION AND APPRECIATION FUND For necessary expenses of the Wildlife Conservation and Appreciation Fund, $800,000, to remain available until expended. MULTINATIONAL SPECIES CONSERVATION FUND For expenses necessary to carry out the African Elephant Conservation Act (16 U.S.C. 4201-4203, 4211 -4213, 4221-4225, 4241- 4245, and 1538), the Asian Elephant Conservation Act of 1997 (Public Law 105-96), and the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act of 1994 (16 U.S.C. 5301-5306), $2,000,000, to remain available until expended: Provided, That unexpended balsuices of amounts previously appropriated to the African Elephant Conservation Fund, Rewards and Operations account, and Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Fund may be transferred to and merged with this appro- 16 USC 4246. priation: Provided further,That in fiscal year 1999 and thereafter, donations to provide assistance under section 5304 of the Rhinoceros and Tiger Conservation Act, subchapter I of the African Elephant Conservation Act, and section 6 of the Asian Elephant Conservation Act of 1997 shall be deposited to this Fund and shall be available without further appropriation: Provided further. That in fiscal year 1999 and thereafter, all penalties received by the United States under 16 U.S.C. 4224 which are not used to pay rewards under 16 U.S.C. 4225 shall be deposited to this Fund to provide assistance under 16 U.S.C. 4211 and shall be available without further appropriation: Provided further. That in fiscal year 1999 and thereafter, not more than three percent of amounts appropriated to this Fund
