(b) REPEAL OF OBSOLETE EFFECTIVE DATE PROVISIONS.— (1) 1984 AMENDMENT. —The first section of Public Law 98- 403 (98 Stat. 1479) is amended by striking ", effective for 7 USC 473a note, the period beginning October 1, 1984, and ending September 30, 1988,". (2) 1987 AMENDMENTS. —Section 2 of the Uniform Cotton Classing Fees Act of 1987 (Public Law 100-108; 101 Stat. 728) is amended by striking "Effective for the period beginning 7 USC 473a note. on the date of enactment of this Act and ending September 30, 1992, section" and inserting "Section", s (3) 1991 AMENDMENTS. —Section 120 of the Food, Agriculture, Conservation, and Trade Act Amendments of 1991 (Public Law 102-237; 105 Stat. 1842) is amended by striking 7 USC 473a note. subsection (e). SEC. 10802. PROGRAM OF PUBLIC EDUCATION REGARDING USE OF 7 USC 5921a. BIOTECHNOLOGY IN PRODUCING FOOD FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. (a) PUBLIC INFORMATION CAMPAIGN.—Not later than 1 year Deadline, after the date of enactment of this Act, the Secretary of Agriculture shall develop and implement a program to communicate with the public regarding the use of biotechnology in producing food for human consumption. The information provided under the program shall include the following: (1) Science-based evidence on the safety of foods produced with biotechnology. (2) Scientific data on the human outcomes of the use of biotechnology to produce food for human consumption.
