OFFICE OF I NS P ECTOR G ENERAL For necessary expenses of the Office of Inspector General, including employment pursuant to the Inspector General Act of 1978, $85,7 6 6,000, including such sums as may be necessary for contracting and other arrangements with public agencies and pri- vate persons pursuant to section 6 ( a ) (9) of the Inspector General Act of 1978, and including not to exceed $1 2 5,000 for certain con- fidential operational expenses, including the payment of informants, to be expended under the direction of the Inspector General pursu- ant to P ublic L aw 95–452 and section 1337 of Public Law 97– 98. OFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSEL For necessary expenses of the Office of the General Counsel, $41,620,000. OFFICE OF THE UNDER SECRETARY FOR RESEARCH, E DUCATION AND ECONOMICS For necessary expenses of the Office of the Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics, $609,000.
