HEALTH DEPARTMENT. Health omcer. For one health-oillcer, three thousand dollars; six sanitary inspectors, at one thousand two hundred dollars each; two food-inspectors, at one thousand two hundred dollars each; for clerks, seven thousand dollars; one messenger, five hundred and forty dollars; one poundmaster, one thousand two hundred dollars; and for contingent expenses, including books, stationery, fuel, rent, laborers under poundmaster, repairs to pound, and wagon and horse for poundmaster, meat for dogs, disinfectants, and miscellaneous items, three thousand eight hundred and sixty dollars; in all, twenty-five thousand two hundred dollars. For the sinking-fund and interest on the funded debt, exclusive of water-bonds, one million one hundred and fifty-nve thousand five hundred and eighty-three dollars and fiftyfive cents. For general contingent expenses of the District of Columbia not otherwise sufficiently provided for (including not exceeding seven thousand svg hundred dollars for pay of temporary employees), twenty thousand o ars. Sec. 2. That all moneys appropriated by this act, together with all revenues of the District of Columbia hom taxes or otherwise, shall be deposited in the Treasury of the United States as required by the provisions of section four of an act approved June eleventh, eighteen hun- 1878, ch- 1% dred and seventy-eight, and shall be drawn therefrom only on requisition 8**** 2°> 10** of the Commissioners of the District of Columbia (except that the _Requisitio¤s for moneys appropriated for interest and the sinking fund shall be drawn ¤¤¤k*¤S fund- therefrom only on the requisition of the Treasurer of the United States), such requisition specifying the appropriation upon which the same is ` drawn; and in no case shall such appropriation be exceeded either in Accounts_ requisition or expenditure, and the accounts for all disbursements of the Commissioners of said District shall be made monthly to the accounting officers of the Treasury by the auditor of the District of Columbia, on Promise. vouchers ccrtined by the Commissioners as now required by law: Provided, That said Commissioners shall not make requisitions upon the appropriations from the Treasury of the United States for a larger amount during said fiscal year than they make on the appropriations Provfao. arising from the revenues of said District: And providedfuvther, That they shall submit their annual estimates to the Secretary of the Treasury by the nrst day of October of each year.
