Ch. 389. 1887. _ For the purchase of a site and building a school building in school division number two, thirty-tive thousand dollars; for the purchase of Furniture. proper and sufficient furniture for the several buildings aforesaid, eight thousand dollars; for providing and causing to be erected and adixed to such of the school buildings in the District of Columbia as require the same, under the provisions of the act approved January twenty- sixth, eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, entitled, “An act for the Ante, p. 365. further protection of property from fire, and safety of lives, in the District of Columbia/’ such iron fire-escapes and combined stand-pipes and ladders, or either of said appliances, as may be approved and adopted by the Commissioners of said District, six thousand dollars. Provided, That the plans and specifications for each of said buildings, and for all other buildings provided for in this act, shall be prepared by the inspector of buildings of the District of Columbia, and shall be approved by the Architect of the Capitol and the Commissioners of the District, and said buildings shall be constructed by the Commissioners in conformity therewith.
