ROAD TO NATIONAL CEMETERY, PRESIDIO OF SAN FRANCISCO, CRM1 w Presidio. CALIFORNIA: For continuing the work of improving the reservation at °l` the Presidio of San Francisco, California, by developing and perfecting the water supply, the reclaiming of sand dunes, the planting of trees and shrubs, and construction of new roads, the erection of a permanent fence or wall on the south and east lines of the reservation, the erection of permanent gateways, the reclamation of the marsh, and other general and much needed improvements, ten thousand dollars. GETTYSBURG BATTLEFIELD: For continuing the work of surveying, ,,£,•>¢¢r¤b¤rz Mme locating, and preserving the lines of battle at Gettysburg, Peimsyl- cémmangsuvsys, vania, and for purchasing, opening, constructing, and improving ave- °“*· nues along the portions occupied by the various commands of the armies of the Potomac and Northern Virginia on that field, and for fencing the same; and for the purchase, at private sale or by condemnation, of such parcels of land as the Secretary of War may deem necessary for the sites of tablets, and for the construction of the said avenues; for determining the leading tactical positions and properly marking the same with tablets of batteries, regiments, brigades, divisions, corps, and other organizations with reference to the study and correct understanding of the battle, each tablet bearing a brief historical legend, compiled without praise and without censure; fifty thousand dollars, to be expended under the direction of the Secretary of War.
