States of America in Omzgreas assembled, That there is hereby appro- Ci§,‘}C'§,°"ph(ifi$,°il{2 priated, out of any moneys in the Treasury not otherwise appro- I“¥*;§*,jeu,,0,us€aud priated, the sum of four hundred and three thousand and thirty dollars occupation of prov and nineteen cents, the same to be paid to the archbishop of Manila, °""°f‘ , in the Philip ine Islands, as the representative (and trustee) of the Roman Catholic Church in said Islands; and that the acceptance of said sum, paid under the provisions of this Act., shall be in full satisfaction of all claims for use and occupation of the property of said church in said islands and for damages done thereto by the military forces of the United States prior to the date, to wit, January fifteenth, nineteen hundred and six, of the official report of the "Board on Church Claims," which said board, composed of John A. Hull, lieutenant-colone], judge-advocate; Alexander O. Brodie, lieutenant—colo— nel, military secretary, and J. W. Moore, tirst lieutenant, Second Cavalry, was duly convened August first, nineteen hundred and five, at headquarters Philippines Division in the city of Manila, in said islands, to consider and report upon said claims. [Private, No. 38.] Be it enacted the Seoiate and House q/'Rem?-sentatives 0 t/ee United States of Amevblba in Ormgrese assembled, That the Secr`dtary of the ggiinrlviirgggigit- Treasury be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to pay to Henry Rustan one hundred and ninety -six dollars to reimburse him for money paid by him at the direction of the register and receiver of the United tates and office at Grand Forks, North Dakota, for making cash entry numbered seventeen thousand and sixty-four, dated November twenty- eighth, nineteen hundred and four, when no part of said payment was . required, as said Henry Rustan was entitle to patent for the land entered without such ayment under section twenty-two hundred and R-S.,¤cc-2291.r-420- ninety-one, Revised S)tatutes, and said sum is hereby appropriated for said purpose out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated. John- iigiii»»}€{1Jdii>hs°;iié¤- son (doing business under the name of the Brooklyn Architectural my ““d"°°"°”°°‘ Iron Works) be, and he herebv is, relieved from any penalty, forfeiture, or claim for liquidated damages under his certain contract with the United States of America, dated on or about the twenty- second day of December, nineteen hundred and six, to install a steel book stack and gallery in the record vault at the United States Immigration Station, Ellis Island, New York Harbor. Sec. 2. That the said John V. Johnson (doing business under the P“Y”’°““°· name of the Brooklyn Architectural Iron YVorks) shall be paid the sum of one thousand eight hundred dollars from the permanent appropriation "Expenses of regulating immigration," in full of the amount due him under said contract, without deduction of any penalty, forfeiture, or claim for liquidated damages or otherwise. ` Approved, March 31, 1908.
