Feb. 11, 1834.

Chap. X.An Act making appropriations, in part, for the support of government for the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four.

Appropriations for support of government.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums be, and the same are hereby, appropriated, to be paid out of any unappropriated money in the treasury, viz:

Congress.For pay and mileage of the members of Congress, and delegates, five hundred and fifty-five thousand four hundred and eighty dollars.

For pay of the officers and clerks of the Senate and House of Representatives, thirty-two thousand nine hundred dollars.

For stationery, fuel, printing, and all other incidental and contingent expenses of the Senate, thirty-two thousand five hundred and fifty dollars.

For stationery, fuel, printing, and all other contingent and incidental expenses of the House of Representatives, one hundred and fifty thousand dollars.

The said two sums last mentioned, to be applied to the payment of the ordinary expenditures of the Senate and House of Representatives, severally, and to no other purpose.

Chap. XI.An Act further to continue in force “An act to authorize the extension, construction, and use of a lateral branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad into and within the District of Columbia.”

Act of March 2, 1831, ch. 85.
Period of construction extended.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the period limited and allowed to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company, within which they are required by the fifth section of the act entitled “An act to authorize the extension, construction, and use of a lateral branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, into and within the District of Columbia,” approved second March, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-one, to commence the road, and complete one set of tracks, be, and the same is hereby extended, and the said act shall remain in force, and all the rights and privileges thereby granted shall be vested in said company:Proviso. Provided, They shall commence the said lateral road within one year, and complete the same, with one set of tracks, within four years from the passage of this act.

Chap. XV.An Act making appropriations for the revolutionary and other pensioners of the United States, for the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four.

Appropriations for pensioners.Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums be, and the same are hereby, appropriated, to be paid out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the pensioners of the United States, for the year one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four:

For the revolutionary pensioners under the several acts prior to that of the seventh of June, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two,June 7, 1832, ch. 126. in addition to an unexpended balance of one hundred and forty-four thousand six hundred and twenty-three dollars and twenty-one cents, the sum of nine hundred and one thousand six hundred and fifty-six dollars.
