That there shall be levied and collected on all beer, lager ·i~`§§‘{,$‘$,,{§?“°'“‘ beer, ale, porter, and other similar fermented liquor, containing one- ,,5f*m§éng°0g 3*”°» P· half of one per centum, or more, of alcohol, brewed or manufactured im, p.31l. and hereafter sold, or removed for consumption or sale, within the United States, by whatever name such liquors may be called, in lieu of the internal-revenue taxes now imposed thereon by law, a tax of $6.00 for every barrel containing not more than thirty-one gallons, and at a like rate for any other quantity or for the fractional plarts of a barrel authorized and deined by law, to be collected under e pro- °°“°”“°”- visions of existing law. That from and after the rpassage of this Act taxable fer- mu, a§’Y{;.,'§‘..¥'§,; dbi mented liquors mai be conveyed wi out payment of tax from the ‘“'¤"°°'****°°*'·‘* brewery premises w ere produced to a contiguous industrial distillery of either class established under the Act entitled "An Act to reduce tariff duties and to provide revenue for the Government, and for Um other purposes," approved October 3, 1913, to be used as distilling material, and the residue from such distillation, containingbless than one·half of 1 per centum of alcohol by volume, which is to e used in making beverages, mary be manipulated by cooling, flavoring, carbonating, settling, an filtering on the distillery premises or elsewhere.
