In appointing the members of the commission created by m§“,jgm'°*’ ¤¤*°°**¤¤ section 1 of this Act the Secretary of War shall, as far as practicable, m ` select persons familiar with the terrain of the battle fields in and around Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia, and the historical events associated therewith. _ Sec. 3, It shall be the duty of the commission, actin under the Duty °I°°”"‘“”i°°' direction of the Secretary of War, to inspect the battle fields in and around Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia, in order to ascertain the feasibility of preservin and marking for his- _ torical and professional military study such iields. The commission R°p°" °!°“dm“S’ shall submit a report of its findings to the Secretary of War not later than December 1, 1924. Src. 4. There is authorized to be appropriated, out of any money ee{t§;`°¤,i,,,°°th°rl”°° _ in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, the sum of $3,000 in P°“·P·”“· order to carry out the provisions of this Act.
