Repair and maintenance of bridges : Not to exceed $10,000 of the unexpended balance of the appropriation for construction and repair of bridges, fiscal year 1928 , is hereby continued available for the same purposes for the fiscal year 1929 . SEWERS Anacostia main interceptor : For an additional amount for con- struction of the upper Anacostia main interceptor along the Ana- costia River between Benning Road and the District line, fisc al year 1929, $12,000 ; and the unexpended balance of the appropriation of $60,000 for this purpose for the fiscal year 1928 is hereby con- tinued available for the fiscal year 1929. PUBLIC SCHOOLS For fuel, gas, electric light, and power, fiscal year 1928, $9,289 .01 . power .' METROPOLITAN POLICE House of Detention : For maintenance of a suitable place for the reception and detention of girls and women over 17 years of age, arrested by the police on charge of offense against any laws in force in the Distric t of Columbia , or held as witnesses or h eld pending final investigation or examination, or otherwise, including transpor- tation, the pu rchase and ma intenance of necessary moto r vehicles, clinic supplies, food, upkeep and repair of building, fuel, gas, ice, laundry, supplies, and equipment, electricity, and other necessary expenses, fiscal year 1929, $3,000 .
