Tennessee, t.he sum of $8,000, found to be due him by the Court of Claims, in congressional case numbered 10549, as appears by Senate Document Numbered 173, Fifty-ninth Congress, second session, being his share of the reasonable charter value, together with the destruction thereof, of a small steamboat, known as the Paint Rock, taken and used by the United States, and while in their possession accidentally destroyed and never paid for, all while the saId C. C . Spiller, deceased, was a loyal citizen of the United States, as evidenced by the findings or report, dated June 27, 1864, of a board of claims designated by the commanding officer of the Department of the Cumberland, by Special Fie)d Orders Numbered 104, dated April 12, 1864, still of record in the War Department.
