George B. Beaver, postmaster at McMinnville, Tennessee, with the sum of $5,944.41, and to certify such credit to the Comptroller General of the United States. Such sum represents the amount paid by such postmaster during the period from September 16, 1927, to April 7, 1931, as compensation to two persons appointed by him as substitute postal clerk and substitute letter carrier, respectively, which amount was disallowed in his account because such persons were not taken from the civil service eligible list.
