AN ACT Making appropriations to supply urgent deficiencies in certain appropriations for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1952, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to supply supplemental appropriations for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1962, and for other purposes, namely:

CHAPTER I DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (Out of Revenues of the District of Columbia) GENERAL ADMINISTRATION OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL

For an additional amount for "OflSce of the Corporation Counsel", $30,000, to be available for settlement of claims only; and the limitation under this head in the District of Columbia Appropriation Act of 1952, on the amount available for settlement of claims, is increased from "$20,000" to "$50,000".

COMPENSATION AND RETIREMENT F U N D EXPENSES DISTRICT G O V E R N M E N T RETIREMENT A N D RELIEF F U N D S

For an additional amount for "District government retirement and relief funds", $113,000. COURTS UNITED STATES COURTS

For an additional amount, fiscal year 1951, for "United States courts", $28,746. JUDGMENTS

For the payment of final judgments rendered against the District of Columbia, as set forth in House Document Numbered 460 (Eightysecond Congress), together with such further sums as may be necessary to pay the interest at not exceeding 4 per centum per annum on such judgments, as provided by law, from the date the same became due until the date of payment, $19,614. AUDITED CLAIMS

For an additional amount for the payment of claims, certified to be due by the accounting officers of the District of Columbia, under appropriations the balances of which have been exhausted or credited to the general fund of the District of Columbia as provided by law (D. C. Code, title 47, sec. 130a), being for the service of the fiscal year 1949 and prior fiscal years, as set forth in House Document Numbered 460 (Eighty-second Congress), $117,284.
