AN ACT To authorize conveyance to the State of North Carolina of certain lands and improvements constituting the United States cotton field station located near Statesville, North Carolina.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of Agriculture is authorized to transfer and convey to the State of North Carolina, without monetary consideration, the real property owned by the United States, comprising one hundred and thirty-three acres, more or less, together with the buildings and improvements thereon, constituting the United States cotton field station located near Statesville in the county of Iredell, State of North Carolina. Such property shall be transferred and conveyed only upon the agreement of the State of North Carolina to furnish the United States Department of Agriculture, without cost, land and other facilities for use in carrying out plant, soil, and agricultural engineering research for a term, or terms, sufficient to make the total rental value of such land and other facilities equal to the present appraised fair market value of the Statesville station, and for such period thereafter as may be mutually agreed upon by the parties. Approved August 13, 1953. CHAPTER 480 AN ACT To revive and reenact the Act entitled "An Act authorizing the Ogdensburg Bridge Authority, its successors and assigns, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge across the Saint Lawrence River at or near the city of Ogdensburg, New York".

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Act approved August 19, 1950, authorizing the Ogdensburg Bridge Authority, its successors and assigns, to construct, maintain, and operate a bridge and approaches thereto across the Saint Lawrence River, so far as the United States has jurisdiction over the waters of such river, at a point suitable to the interests of navigation, at or near the city of Ogdensburg, be, and is hereby, revived and reenacted: Provided, That this Act shall be null and void unless the actual construction of the bridge herein referred to be commenced within two years and completed within four years from the date of approval hereof. SEC. 2, The right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act is hereby expressly reserved. Approved August 14, 1953. CHAPTER 481

AN ACT Authorizing the Hidalgo Bridge Company, its heirs, legal representatives, and assigns, to construct, maintain, and operate a railroad toll bridge across the Rio Grande, at or near Hidalgo, Texas.
