Legislative Branch Appropriation Act, 1958.
AN ACT Making appropriations for the Legislative Branch for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1958, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the following sums are appropriated, out of any money in the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the Legislative Branch for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1958, namely: SENATE SALARIES o r SENATORS, MILEAGE OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AND OF SENATORS, E X P E N S E ALLOWANCE OF THE MAJORITY A N D MINORITY LEADERS OF THE SENATE, A N D SALARY AND EXPENSE ALLOWANCE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT
For compensation of Senators, $2,328,245. For mileage of the President of the Senate and of Senators, $51,000. For expense allowance of the majority leader and the minority leader of the Senate, $2,000 each, in all $4,000. For the compensation of the Vice President of the United States, $37,695. For expense allowance of the Vice President, $10,000. SALARIES, OFFICERS A N D EMPLOYEES
For compensation of officers, employees, clerks to Senators, and others as authorized by law, including agency contributions as authorized, which shall be paid from this appropriation without regard to the below limitations, as follows: OFFICE OF THE VICE PRESIDENT
For clerical assistance to the Vice President, at rates of compensation to be fixed by him in basic multiples of $5 per month, $101,925. CHAPLAIN
Chaplain of the Senate, $5,000. OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY
For office of the Secretary, $572,915. COMMITTEEMPLOYEES
For professional and clerical assistance to standing committees, and the Select Committee on Small Business, $2,030,650. CONFERENCE COMMITTEES
