JOINT RESOLUTION Authorizing the One Hundred and First Airborne Division Association to erect a memorial in the District of Columbia.
Resolved by the Senate cmd House of Representatives of the United Dilision A^^oTi- ^^^^^^ ^f America in Congress assembled, That the Secretary of the ation. Interior is authorized and directed to grant authority to the One D. C memorial. Hundred and First Airborne Division Association to erect a memorial on public grounds in the District of Columbia or environs in honor and in commemoration of the men of the One Hundred and First Airborne Division, United States Army, who have given their lives to their country. Approv al of s i t e. SEC. 2. The design and site of such memorial shall be approved by the National Capital Planning Commission, the Secretary of the Interior, and the National Commission of Fine Arts. The United States shall be put to no expense in the erection of such memorial. Authority. SEC. 3. The authority conferred pursuant to this joint resolution shall lapse unless (1) the erection of such memorial is commenced within five years from the date of enactment of this joint resolution, and (2) before its commencement funds are certified available in an amount sufficient, in the judgment of the Secretary of the Interior, to insure completion of the memorial. AN ACT To amend the Act of August 2, 1956 (70 Stat. 940), providing for the establishment of the Virgin Islands National Park, and for other purposes.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That the Act of August 2, 1956 (70 Stat. 940), entitled "An Act to authorize the establishment of the Virgin Islands National Park, and for other purposes" is hereby amended by striking section 3 therefrom. Approved May 16, 1958.
