The sums appropriated in this Act for the District of Columbia shall, unless otherwise specifically provided for, be paid out of the general fund of the District of Columbia, as defined in the District of Columbia Appropriations Acts for the fiscal years involved.

DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND WELFARE P U B L I C H E A L T H SERVICE ASSISTANCE TO STAL'ES, GENERAL

For an additional amount for "Assistance to States, general", $2,000,000; and the purposes for which appropriations under this head are available during the fiscal year 1960 shall include traineeships pursuant to section 306 of the Public Health Service Act, as H use 2*42d. amended. GRANTS FOR WASTE TREATMENT WORKS CONSTRUCTION

For an additional amount for "Grants for waste treatment works construction", fiscal years 1958-1959, $657,000, to remain available until August 31, 1959. HOSPITALS AND MEDICAL CARE

For an additional amount for "Hospitals and medical care", $6,000,000; and the purposes for which appropriations under this head are available during the fiscal year 1960 shall include traineeships pursuant to section 307 of the Public Health Service Act, as amended.
