Public Law 88-292 AN ACT To amend title 35 of the United States Code to pennit a written declaration to be accepted in lieu of an oath, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Patent Cnited States of America in Congress assembled, That title 35, ^^ ^ office United States Code, is amended by adding the following new sec- ^"^oeciarafions in tions after section 24: «" °^ °3ths. "§ 25. Declaration in lieu of oath •'(a) The Commissioner may by rule prescribe that any document to be filed in the Patent Office and which is required by any law, rule, or other regulation to be under oath may be subscribed to by a written declaration in such form as the Commissioner may prescribe, such declaration to be in lieu of the oath otherwise required. " (b) Whenever such written declaration is used, the document must warn the declarant that willful false statements and the like are punishable by line or imprisonment, or both (18 U.S.C. 1001). 62 Stat. 749. "§ 26. Effect of defective execution "Any document to be filed in the Patent Office and which is required by any law, rule, or other regulation to be executed in a specified manner may be provisionally accepted by the Commissioner despite a defective execution, provided a properly executed document is submitted within such time as may be prescribed." SEC. 2. The analysis of chapter 2 of title 35, United Sta4;es Code, ^^ ^*^*- ^^4immediately preceding section 21, is amended to read as follows: "Sec. "21. Day for taking action falling on Saturday, Sunday, or holiday. "22. Printing of papers filed. "23. Testimony in Patent Office cases. "24. SubiK)enas, witnesses. "25. Public Law 88-293 AN ACT To authorize the Secretary of the Interior to make water available for a permanept pool for fish and wildlife and recreation purposes at Cochiti Reservoir from the San Juan-Chama unit of the Colorado River storage project.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembledj That the proviso to subdivision (e) of the conditions applicable to the project for improvement of the Rio Grande Basin authorized by section 203 of the Flood Control Act of 1960 (Public Law 86-645; 74 Stat. 493), is hereby supplemented to authorize, for conservation and development of fish and wildlife resources and for recreation, approximately fifty thousand acre-feet of water for the initial filling of a permanent pool of one thousand two hundred surface acres in Cochiti Reservoir, and thereafter sufficient water annually to offset the evaporation from such area, to be made available by the Secretary of the Interior from water diverted into the Rio Grande Basin by the works authorized by section 8 of the Act of June 13, 1962 (Public I ^ w 87-^83, 76 Stat. 97), subject to the conditions specified in sections 8,12,13,14, and 16 of said Act.
