PUBLIC HOUSING ADMINISTRATION' ANNUAL CONTRIBUTIONS

For the payment of annual contributions to public housing agencies in accordance with section 10 of the United States Housing Act of 1937, as amended (42 U.S.C. 1410), $200,000,000.

SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For necessary expenses of the Interstate Commerce Commission, including services as authorized by section 15 of the Act of August 2, 1946 (5 U.S.C. 55a), at rates for individuals not to exceed $100 per diem; and purchase of not to exceed thirty-seven passenger motor vehicles for replacement only; $25,485,000, of which not less than $1,889,500 shall be available for expenses necessary to carry out railroad safety activities and not less than $1,261,500 shall be available for expenses necessary to carry out locomotive inspection activities: Provided, That Joint Board members and cooperating State commissioners may use Government transportation requests when traveling in connection with their duties as such.

NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

For necessary expenses, not otherwise provided for, including research, development, operations, services, minor construction, supplies, materials, equipment; maintenance, repair, and alteration of real and personal property; and purchase, hire, maintenance, and 'operation of other than administrative aircraft necessary for the conduct and support of aeronautical and space research and development activities of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration $4,363,594,000, to remain available until expended. For necessary expenses, not otherwise provided for, of the operation of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, including uniforms or allowances therefor, as authorized by the Act of September 1,.1954, as amended (5 U.S.C. 2131); minor construction; supplies, materials, services, and equipment; awards; purchase or hire of not to exceed two aircraft for administrative use; maintenance and operation of administrative aircraft; purchase and hire of motor vehicles (including purchase of not to exceed eighty-five passenger motor vehicles, of which forty shall be for replacement o n l y); and
