Public Law 89-149 AN ACT To authorize payment of inceutive pay for the per forma nee of hazardous duty on the flight deek of an aircraft carrier.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Uniformed servUnited States of America in Congress assembled. That section 301(a) i c e s. of title 37, United States Code, is amended— Hazardous duty (1) by striking out the word "or" at the end of clause (10); '"yJ^sJIt 47i' (2) by striking out the period at the end of clause (11) and inserting a semicolon and the word "or* in place thereof; and (3) by adding the following new clause at the end thereof: "(12) involving frequent and regular participation in flight operations on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier." SEC. 2. Section 301(c) of title 37, Laiited States Code, is amended by striking out the words "or (11)" and inserting the words "(11), or (12)" in f)lace thereof. SEC, 8. Section 301(f) of title 37,1'nited States Code. is amended by striking out the words "subsection (a)(l) - ( l l) " and inserting the words "subsection (a)(1) - ( 1 2) " in place thereof. Dependents of members of armed forces " (a) The Secretary concerned may, if a dependent of a member of an armed force dies while the member is on active duty (other than for training), provide for, and pay the necessary expenses of, transporting the remains of the deceased dependent to the home of the decedent or to any other place that the Secretary determines to be the appropriate place of interment."
