AN ACT To amend the District of Columbia Police and Firemen's Salary Act of 1958 and the District of Columbia Teachers' Salary Act of 1955 to increase salaries, and for other purposes.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives United States of America in Congress assembled,

TITLE I—SALAKY I N C R E A S E S FOR DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA POLICEMEN AND F I R E M E N SEC. 101. This title and title II of this Act may be cited as the "District of Columbia Police and Firemen's Salary Act Amendments of 1970". SEC. 102. Section 101 of the District of Columbia Police and Firemen's Salary Act of 1958 (D.C. Code, sec. 4-823) is amended to read as follows: "SEC. 101. The annual rate of basic compensation of the officers and members of the Metropolitan Police force and the Fire Department of the District of Columbia shall be fixed in accordance with the following schedule of rates: "SALARY SCHEDULE Service step
