SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For necessary expenses for the Federal Communications Commission, as authorized by law, including uniforms or allowances therefor, as authorized by law (5 U.S.C. 5901-5902); not to exceed $353,000 for land and structures; not to exceed $65,000 for improvement and care of grounds and repair to buildings; not to exceed $1,500 for official reception and representation expenses; purchase (not to exceed eight) and hire of motor vehicles; special counsel fees; and services as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 3109; $49,500,000: Provided, That not to exceed $500,000 of the foregoing amount shall remain available until September 30, 1977, for research and policy studies. For "Salaries and Expenses", including the hire of motor vehicles, and not to exceed $375 for official reception and representation expenses, for the period July 1, 1976, through September 30, 1976; $12,325,000. SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For necessary expenses of the Federal Maritime Commission, including services as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 3109; hire of passenger motor vehicles; and uniforms or allowances therefor, as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 5901-5902; $7,840,000: Provided, That not to exceed $1,500 shall be available for official reception and representation expenses. For "Salaries and expenses" for the period July 1, 1976, through September 30, 1976, $1,960,000: Provided, That not to exceed $375 shall be available for official reception and representation expenses. COMMISSION

SALARIES AND EXPENSES

For necessary expenses of the Federal Trade Commission, including uniforms or allowances therefor, as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 5901-5902; services as authorized by 5 U.S.C. 3109; hire of passenger motor vehicles; and not to exceed $1,500 for official reception and representation expenses; $45,927,000. No part of these funds may be used to pay the salary of any employee, including Commissioners, of the Federal Trade Commission who— (1) makes any publication based on the line-of-business data furnished by individual firms without taking reasonable precautions to prevent disclosure of the line-of-business data furnished by any particular firm; or (2) permits anyone other than sworn officers and employees of the Federal Trade Commission to examine the line-of-business reports from individual firms; or
