OPERATION AND M A I N T E N A N C E, N A V Y

For expenses, not otherwise provided for, necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Navy and the Marine Corps, as authorized by law; and not to exceed $4,239,000 can be used for emergencies and extraordinary expenses, to be expended on the approval or authority of the Secretary of the Navy, and payments may be made on his certificate of necessity for confidential military purposes; $8,069,400,000, of which not less than $200,000,000 shall be available only for the maintenance of real property facilities: Provided, That of the total amount of this appropriation made available for the alteration, overhaul, and repair of naval vessels, not more than $1,335,500,000 shall be available for the performance of such work in Navy s h i p y a r d s: Provided further, That not to exceed $54,000,000, in the aggregate of the unobligated balances of appropriations made under this head for prior fiscal years, and subsequently w i t h d r a w n under the Act of July 25, 1956, as amended (31 U.S.C. 701), may be restored to the appropriation account under this head for the fiscal year 1972. For "Operation and maintenance. Navy " for the period July 1, 1976, through September 30, 1976; $2,133,557,000, of which not to exceed $1,060,000 can be used for emergencies and extraordinary expenses. For expenses, not otherwise provided for, necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Marine Corps, as authorized by law; $497,110,000, of which not less than $55,000,000 shall be available only for the maintenance of real property facilities. For "Operation and maintenance, Marine Corps" for the period July 1, 1976, through September 30, 1976; $125,506,000. OPERATION AND M A I N T E N A N C E, A I R FORCE

For expenses, not otherwise provided for, necessary for the operation and maintenance of the A i r Force, as authorized by law; and not to exceed $2,333,000 can be used for emergencies and extraordinary expenses, to be expended on the approval or authority of the Secretary of the A i r Force, and payments may be made on his certificate of necessity for confidential military purposes; $7,498,679,000, of which not less than $340,000,000 shall be available only for the maintenance of real property facilities: Provided, That not to exceed $67,000,000, in the aggregate of the unobligated balances of appropriations made under this head for prior fiscal years, and subsequently w i t h d r a w n under the Act of July 25, 1956, as amended (31 U.S.C. 701), may be restored to the appropriation account under this head for the fiscal year 1972.
