An Act To extend the time for conducting the referendum with respect to the national marketing quota for wheat for the marketing year beginning June 1, 1978.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,, That section Wheat. 336 of the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938 (52 Stat. 55, as Marketing quota amended; 7 U.S.C. 1336) is amended by striking out the last four sen- referendum, tences and inserting in lieu thereof a new sentence as follows: "Notwithstanding any other provision hereof, the referendum with respect to the national marketing quota for wheat for the marketing year "' beginning June 1, 1978, may be conducted not later than the earlier of the following: (1) thirty days after adjournment sine die of the first session of the Ninety-fifth Congress, or (2) October 15, 1977.". Approved June 17, 1977.
