AIRCRAFT PROCUREMENT, NAVY

For construction, procurement, production, modification, and modernization of aircraft, equipment including ordnance, spare parts, and accessories therefor; specialized equipment; expansion of public and private plants, including the land necessary therefor, and such lands and interests therein, may be acquired, and construction prosecuted thereon prior to approval of title as required by section 355, Revised Statutes, as amended; and procurement and installation 40 USC 255. of equipment, appliances, and machine tools in public and private plants; reserve plant and Government and contractor-owned equipment layaway; $9,115,800,000, of which $37,000,000 shall be available only for purchase of C-2 aircraft under a multiyear contract, to remain available for obligation until September 30, 1984. For construction, procurement, production, modification, and modernization of missiles, torpedoes, other weapons, and related support equipment including spare parts, and accessories therefor; expansion of public and private plante, including the land necessary therefor, and such lands and interests therein, may be acquired, and construction prosecuted thereon prior to approval of title as required by section 355, Revised Statutes, as amended; and procurement and installation of equipment, appliances, and machine tools in public and private plants; reserve plant and Government and contractorowned equipment layaway; $3,207,100,000, to remain available for obligation until September 30, 1984. SHIPBUILDING AND CONVERSION, NAVY (INCLUDING TRANSFER OF FUNDS)

For expenses necessary for the construction, acquisition, or conversion of vessels as authorized by law, including armor and armament thereof, plant equipment, appliances, and machine tools and installation thereof in public and private plants; reserve plant and Government and contractor-owned equipment layaway; procurement of critical, long leadtime components and designs for vessels to be constructed or converted in the future; and expansion of public and private plants, including land necessary therefor, and such lands and interests therein, may be acquired, and construction prosecuted thereon prior to approval of title as required by section 355, Revised Statutes, as amended, as follows: for the Trident submarine program, $315,600,000; for the CVN aircraft carrier program, $475,000,000; for the SSN-688 nuclear attack submarine program, $1,351,000,000; for the reactivation of the U.S.S. New Jersey, $237,000,000; for the reactivation of the U.S.S. Iowa, $88,000,000; for the aircraft carrier service life extension program, $81,000,000; for the CG-47 AEGIS cruiser program, $2,929,300,000; for the LSD-41 landing ship dock program, $301,000,000; for the LHA/LHDX helicopter assault ship program, $45,000,000; for the FFG guided missile frigate program, $926,100,000; for the MOM mine countermeasures ship program, $99,700,000; for the T-AO fleet oiler ship program, $200,000,000; for the T-AGOS SURTASS ship program, $156,500,000; for the ARS salvage ship program, $135,500,000; for the T-AKRX fast logistics ship program, $307,600,000; for the T-AFS Lyness conversion program, $37,000,000; for craft, outfitting, post delivery, cost growth, and
