He returned to China in 1916 and became a member of the Red Cross Hospital and the Harvard out patient department staff, occupying this position for more than half year. In 1917 he went to Peking and joined the Union Medical Collage. He was in charge of the eye, ear, nose and throat departments for two years. In 1919 he was appointed associate professor in ophthalmology of the college. Four years of service with the Union Medical College entitled him to a vacation in America of one year and a half, during which time he did special research work under the widely known, eye specialist Dr. Verhoeff, Boston. Dr. Li was a member of China Medical Missionary Association between 1909 and 1914, and of National Medical Association of China in 1916. Dr. Li returned to China in 1923 and is at present working in the Union Medical College, Peking.
