people; for he will exerciſe very great tyranny againſt his ſubjects and againſt the church of Chriſt, being inſtigated or ſtirred up thereunto by the Romiſh Biſhops, &c. who being bribed with money, ſhall ſeduce and betray him: This he ſhall ſeem to do in favour of his kingdom or allies; but when he ſhall be removed and deceived, he ſhall he left all alone in baniſhment, abandoned by thoſe that he confided in: This ſhall happen towards the end of the ſecond incurſe, ſo the field ſhall hang on the fire-band. A Prophecy of the Turks, concerning the downſal of their Empire.

OUR Monarch ſhall come, he ſhall diſpoſſeſs the unbelieving Prince of this kingdom; he ſhall ſubdue the red apple, and make it yield to his government, and if happily the Chriſtian ſword prevail not unto the ſeventh year, he ſhall over-rule them unto the twelfth year: He ſhall build caſtles, plant vineyards, and fortify his gardens (or towns) with walls; he ſhall increaſe in iſſue; but after the 12th year, the ſword of the Chriſtians ſhall approach, which ſhall put the Turks to flight, utterly vanquiſhing them. As for this prophecy, the accompliſhment of it is now in diſpute between the Turks and Chriſtians, and therefore I leave the reader to expect the event.

The Prediction of Malchy, ſome time Arch-Biſhop of Dublin, and accounted by the Papiſts for a Saint, relating to the downfal of the Papacy.

THIS man having by way of Symbole deſcribed all the Popes that were before his time, ſince his time, and what he propoſes are yet to come, concludes with a ſad O hone! O hone! in theſe words: In the laſt perſecution of the Romiſh church, (ſays he) one Peter a Roman, ſhall poſſeſs the chair, and feed the ſheep in many tribulations; which being accompliſhed, the ſeven-hill'd city ſhall be deſtroyed, and the dreadful Judge ſhall call the people to judgement: And this, according to his account, is computed to happen in the year 1800, if we allow 7 years to the reign of every Pope; however, for the Elect's ſake, theſe days may be ſhortened.
